Puke and Blood

Last night was fun.  We had my sister and brother in law come over after a long day of tiling.  My niece stayed home with all the kids while we went out and had some adult time across the street.  We came home and played some games and had a great time.  Then it all went down hill from there.  Here is a timeline of my last 24 hours.

7:30 pm- 12:30 am-Went out to dinner, had some drinks and played some games.  Good times.

12:30-1:30 am-My wife goes up saying she isn’t feeling well, her stomach was killing her (not alcohol related).  Half hour later I go up and get ready for bed.  I hear a weird noise so I open the door.  Her head is in a garbage can puking like crazy.  Clean up on aisle 3.  Not such a good time.  I don’t do well with puke.

1:30-5:30 am-Sleep

5:30-6:30 am-Hear my son yelling from his bathroom.  We rush out there and find that his nose is gushing blood out of both sides.  I mean gushing!  Luckily he went to the bathroom, but there was blood all over the rug, the floor, and especially him.  He looked like he just got punched in the face.  My sister comes out and helps me get his nose capped off.  My wife couldn’t even get out of bed because she is so sick.  We finally get him cleaned up and I spent the next half hour cleaning his clothes since our washer and dryer are not hooked up due to the tiling.  Then go and finish cleaning the bathroom.  Not fun.

6:30-8:30 am- Try to go back to bed but that is not happening.

8:30-10:00 am-Have to take my kids to swimming…solo.  Of course we are running late so I get there and quickly get them stripped down to their suits.  I drop him off at his teacher and get in the pool with her.  Probably the most fun part of the day…until it is time to get them changed back into their clothes.  Not fun!

10:00-11:00 am-My neighbor calls me on the way home from swimming asking me if we were coming to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  Crap! I forgot all about that.  I had no basket for them, and they weren’t dressed for the weather.  Whatever, we are going.  We rushed over there and got there just in time for them to start.  We run out and get some eggs and put them into their swim bag, the only thing I have for them.  Kind of fun, but cold!

11:00 am-4:00pm-I get home to my father in law waiting for me to tile.  He wasn’t supposed to be there until after noon.  Ugh!  Whatever, lets get to it.  We get all of the tile grouted and now it is all done!  That is a huge relief and it looks great!  Now we just have to put everything back together again, but that will wait until tomorrow.  Not fun, but gratifying.

4:00-7:45 pm-Panic mode because my wife was supposed to go out today and get all of their Easter stuff.  She literally couldn’t get off the couch.  She is so sick and literally can’t stay awake.  Okay, my turn again.  I run out to the store and just pick out anything I can find that I think they would like in their Easter basket.  As I finish, I forgot that we need to bring appetizers to my parent’s house tomorrow.  I sat in the car on Pinterest trying to come up with a couple appetizers.  I ran to Mariano’s and picked up what we need.  Now I have to figure out something to pick up for dinner because it is 7:30 and my poor kids haven’t eaten yet.  Chipotle it is!  Not fun!

7:45-8:30 pm-Eat really quick and get dinner cleaned up.  I put my kids upstairs to watch a show before bed.  My wife then asks me, “Did you get Finley an Easter basket today?”  Nope!  Back to Walgreens it is! Not fun!

8:30-9:15 pm-Get the kids to bed and go and get all of their Easter stuff in their baskets.  Not terrible.

9:15-10:00 pm-Forgot that I needed to wipe the tile down again.  I fill up the buckets and wipe down all of the leftover grout on the tiles.  Looks great!  Again, not fun, but gratifying.

10:00 pm-present-Last blog of this challenge.  I apologize that this is not a happy ending to the blog, but it is nice to have a completely quiet house.  It is nice to sit down for the first time today.  It was nice to catch at least twenty minutes of one of the basketball games.  It is nice to know that in about one minute, I will publish this, and have one less thing to have to worry about.  I really do enjoy doing this challenge.  I love to write about what is going on in my crazy life.  I also really enjoy reading everyone’s posts as well.  That is the part that I will miss the most!  The only thing that I didn’t like was last time I did this I felt like my stories were way more fun and entertaining than this time.  Oh well, I guess that is just what life is right now.  If I do this again, my goal will be to write more fun blogs!

Happy Easter to everyone!  Awesome writing.
